Blessing of the Animals
Our first Blessing of the Animals service was held on Sunday, September 14th at 2pm in the afternoon. It was a service on the church lawn, including people and pets. The pets that grace our homes are not only among the things we care deeply about, but our hopes and dreams for a better world should encourage us to think about non-human creatures as well as our own kind.
If you missed our Blessing of the Animals Service, we’re offering a version for home use below. Read through the service and offer the blessing for your pet or pets. It’s a great activity for the whole family!
Blessing of the Backpacks
This fall, we celebrated the return to school with a celebration for a new school year that included a blessing of the backpacks.
In addition to Sunday worship, our church celebrates liturgical and cultural holy days and holidays. Evening services typically start at 7:30PM.
In the seasons of Advent and Christmas (between Thanksgiving and January 6th) we mark special Advent observances and Christmas Eve.
In the season of Lent we observe Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday.
In the summer months, Sunday worship moves to 10:00AM starting Memorial Day weekend and continuing through Labor Day weekend.
At least one Sunday during the summer, we like to worship outside of our church building, either onsite or going to a local park.
Special Sunday observances are Baptism of the Lord, Transfiguration of the Lord, Palm Sunday, Easter Sunday, Pentecost, Trinity Sunday, Back to School Sunday, World Communion Sunday, and Christ the King Sunday.
